Comenius Open Days in Kerekegyháza

On 4th-5th May Comenius Open Days were arranged in our institution. These were great opportunities for the wider public to be acquainted with the work we fulfilled during the two schoolyears.

On the first day we prepared so-called ’Comenius Dragons’. We had to decorate them in the spirit of our main topic: ’In the shadow of trees’. Thanks to the suitable weather the dragons could fly.

Next afternoon we had the chance to take part in the Comenius obstacle-race. We had to solve different tasks in different places. We had to solve a cultural quiz and recognizing different tree leaves. Moreover, we had to make a puzzle, write a short poem with given words connecting the theme of the project, create sentences with words of different countries and languages and fulfil a sport activity.

After the obstacle-race the ’Comenius Show’ began. The winners of the competition were announced in the assembly hall where an exhibition was prepared about our products, the whole project.

After the great performances of the students from the school of music the visitors were informed in detail about the achieved tasks and results in course of the two schoolyears and travelogues were given in connection with the projectmeetings.

These were really interesting and exciting days for all of us!

News in Poland

Last time we were hosting in Poland foreign people. We were very happy because of that and we really miss those nice people :).
Many of us are ending junior high school. It's "ending" year for us.
We got marks and we are chosing our future schools.
But first we have summer holidays, only one week lasts, so we are very happy because of that. We got good results in our ending exams. Soon we will take a part in performance about school ending. Then I'll be able to show you some photos of it.

I post here some photos of spending time with foreign people.

Every year, the children in Turkey celebrate this "Sovereignty and Children's Day" as a national holiday. Schools participate in week-long ceremonies marked by performances in all fields in large stadiums watched by the entire nation. Among the activities on this day, the children send their representatives to replace state officials and high ranking bureaucrats in their offices. The President, the Prime Minister, the Cabinet Ministers, provincial governors all turn over their positions to children's representatives. These children, in turn, sign executive orders relating to educational and environmental policies. Fancy-Dress Party in Kerekegyháza

The Carnival time lasts from Epiphany ( 6th January) to Ash Wednesday.

This also means farewell to winter, which is celebrated with the famous „Mohács Búsójárás” (Busó-walking). The celebration features Busós (people wearing traditional masks) and includes folk music, masquerading, parades and dancing. Busójárás lasts six days.
In our school a large Fancy-Dress Party is organised every year.

As the beginning of the ceremony the school-leaver students danced a beautiful waltz.
After that other dance groups danced, then came the pupils dressed in nice and interesting fancy dresses.
We had a great time as the good music was given, we could dance and talk a lot.
Moreover, doughnut and sandwiches could be eaten with tea.

We could buy as many raffles as we wanted, and hoped that we win one of the cakes!

As we are in Year 7, we were responsible for cleaning after the party. It was tiring, but we left school with beautiful memories that evening.
